Project description:

Trust in research is crucial for scientific and social progress. The poor quality of published data and a lack of transparency have challenged this trust in recent years. Compliance with quality standards is not only part of good scientific practice, it is also an ethical duty when research is based on animal experiments or affects patient lives. The Open Science movement offers many opportunities to improve the quality, the validity, and the transparency of research. In order to be fully effective, Open Science practices must find their way into everyday scientific life. With the Summer School we would like to inform scientists at the beginning of their careers from different areas of the life sciences about the potential of open research for their own science. In this way we would like to contribute to the initiation of a new research culture.
