Methanol is the simplest chemical compound in the group of alcohols. It is one of the so-called industrial alcohols and is used in the motor industry, among other things. However, methanol can also form as an undesirable by-product in alcoholic beverages. This can pose health risks, which can affect the eyes and nerves.
