Description and Objective

The vision of the European partnership “FutureFoodS” is to create the transition towards environmentally friendly, socially safe, fair, economically viable, healthy and safe food systems in cooperation with all European partners. In line with the objectives of the European Green Deal, sustainable food systems - from primary production to the consumer - are to be created at local, regional, national and global level. This will be achieved through changes in four areas of research and innovation: - how we eat, - how we process and provide food, - how we interact with food systems, - how we regulate food systems. As part of the development of a European Food Systems Observatory (on the sustainability performance of food systems), BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment will conduct desk research to identify methods that can be used to collect data on social perceptions, ambiguities and potential controversies (with a focus on methods that integrate deliberative and other participatory elements).
