This is why the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment has been awarded the “audit berufundfamilie” certificate for the sixth time.
The aim of the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment's family-conscious personnel policy is to enable employees to achieve a work-life balance that is appropriate to their stage of life and to be an attractive employer for both current and new employees. To this end, the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment continuously implements family-conscious personnel policy measures.
Reconciling work and family life is one of the priority goals of the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment's personnel policy. In order to achieve this goal, the institute offers its employees a wide range of options that enable highly individualised solutions. The “audit berufundfamilie” certificate stands for the special recognition of long-standing, sustainable family and life-phase-conscious personnel policy and as a quality seal for a strategically designed work-life balance policy.
The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment has drawn up an action programme for the next three years that will focus even more on family-conscious management. Among other things, the programme aims at addressing the work-life balance challenges faced by managers through a series of measures. Various events and programmes are also planned for (junior) management development, the implementation of an employee survey and events on the topics of excellence, performance and work-life balance.
This year, 96 companies received the certificate. The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment has been recognised as a family-friendly employer since 2009 and is one of the 17 institutions that have successfully passed the audit for the sixth time.

The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) is a scientifically independent institution within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMELshort forGerman Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture) in Germany. The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment advises the Federal Government and the States (‘Laender’) on questions of food, chemicals and product safety. The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment conducts independent research on topics that are closely linked to its assessment tasks.
