Test procedures for risk assessment

Experimental toxicological investigations are the starting point for health risk assessments. In many cases, scientific studies that appear as quality-checked publications in scientific journals can be evaluated. For standardised assessments that have to meet legal requirements for chemical safety or authorisation procedures, these investigations are usually carried out in accordance with internationally agreed and recognised test guidelines.
