#Krisenalltag – Kommunikation in der Pandemie: Exhibition opens

13/2023, 13.07.2023

Interactive show at the Museum of Communication Berlin

How well did governments, authorities and health institutions communicate during the Corona pandemic? And how did people react to these institutions’ posts and tweets on social media? These are the questions addressed by a research project whose first results are now on display at the Museum of Communication Berlin: The exhibition #Krisenalltag – Kommunikation in der Pandemie (Everyday Crisis – Communication in the Pandemic) is open to the public from 14 July to 15 October 2023.

The exhibition offers an interactive time travel through public communication during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wall screens, a multi-touch table and digital projections make crisis communication tangible. The findings originate from the MIRKKOMM joint project (Optimisation of Risk and Crisis Communication by Governments, Authorities and Health Care Organisations). The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) coordinates the research project. “Comprehensible and trustworthy communication in times of crisis is an integral and indispensable part of official action,” explains BfR President Prof Dr Dr Andreas Hensel. “In this research project, we are interested in how well people are reached by information from science, authorities and the media in times of crisis.”

The exhibition #Krisenalltag – Kommunikation in der Pandemie will run from 14 July through 15 October 2023. The MIRKKOMM joint project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
