Co-operation

BfR has close contacts to both state and non-state institutions. In line with its statutory remit BfR co-operates with the offices of the European Union, in particular the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and other scientific bodies on the national and international level.

This co-operation encompasses institutional collaboration as well as joint research projects. BfR scientists make an active contribution to the work of a whole number of organisations. In conjunction with the work of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) they act, for instance, as advisors to the German delegation and channel the scientific expertise of BfR into the work of CAC and its subordinate committees.
