Description and Objective

The guest stay focusses on pyrethroid pesticide genotoxicity: to improve our understanding of mechanistic aspects, dose-response and structure-activity relationships, as well as in vitro to in vivo extrapolation / in vivo relevance of in vitro mutagenicity for this group of compounds

Result

The purpose of the visiting research stay was to investigate divergent findings regarding the genotoxicity of pyrethroid active substances using structure-activity analyses. The seemingly contradictory findings were linked to the formation of photo-oxidation products that can be generated by a subfamily of synthetic pyrethroids. A corresponding manuscript has been prepared and will shortly be submitted for publication.
