Description and Objective

This project will be carried out in the context of Task 6.1 (T6.1) which aims to deliver integrated approaches to testing and assessment (IATA) for a selected set of health effects. The project is focused on IATA development for carcinogenicity, including both genotoxic and non-genotoxic mechanisms for carcinogenesis. This goal is directly related to the Key Areas of Regulatory Challenges (KARC), which highlights the need for a completely novel approach for identifying carcinogens that are relevant to humans instead of other (test) species. The project also addresses top needs identified for PARC, i.e. to replace (or reduce) animal tests with NAMs for hazard assessment and to demonstrate how NAMs can be used for CLP purposes.
