Description and Objective

The 2019 Transparency Regulation states that overall communication on food chain risks is not considered sufficiently effective, which has an impact on consumer confidence in the outcome of the risk analysis process. Therefore, the European Commission has mandated EFSAshort forEuropean Food Safety Authority to work with Member States to develop a coordinated approach to communication and cooperation on food chain risks. To this end, EFSAshort forEuropean Food Safety Authority is making funds available to the member states and the function of an International Coordination Coordinator (CoCo) is being established at BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment.
