Accessibility Statement
The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) strives to ensure that its websites and mobile applications comply with the External Link:Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (Disability Equality Act – BGG) and the External Link:Ordinance on the Creation of AccessibleExternal Link: Information Technology in accordance with the Disability Equality Act (AccessibleExternal Link: Information Technology Ordinance – BITV 2.0) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
Status of compliance with requirements
This accessibility statement (as of September 2025) applies to the version of this website currently available on the internet. A BITV test is still pending due to the website relaunch in May 2025 and will be carried out in the second half of the year.
Based on previous reviews, the website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to the following incompatibilities. The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- PDF files uploaded before September 2018 do not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation and are not accessible. They contain the note "not accessible".
- Some PDF documents are not yet accessible. These include opinions, scientific reports and minutes (in German). They will be made accessible retroactively.
- The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment website may contain PDF files that are also available as HTML pages. In this case, the HTML page is to be regarded as an accessible alternative to the PDF file, meaning that there is no accessible PDF version. They are marked as “not accessible”. The EU standard (EN 301 549 V 3.2.1) applicable to information and communication technology (ICT) refers to the External Link:Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), which stipulate that information can also be accessed by providing a "compliant alternative version".
- Some videos have been published without text alternatives (transcriptions). The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment is endeavouring to add these retrospectively.
- Videos do not contain audio descriptions.
- PDF presentations are generally not accessible, as some of the rights are held by external authors. The BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment's own presentations cannot be made accessible due to resource constraints. They contain the addition "not accessible".
