QM Co-ordination
The BfR Executive Management shapes the BfR quality policy, sets quality targets and draws up rules for their implementation. The Quality Management Co-ordinator (QMC) attends to the implementation of the quality policy of the Institute’s Executive Management and ensures compliance with the corresponding quality management rules.
The quality management tasks result from internationally binding ISO standards. They encompass firstly the co-ordination of all activities within the framework of the Accreditation of all BfR laboratory areas pursuant to EC Directive 93/99 and Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 based on DIN EN ISO/EC 17025.
Because of the diverse and different requirements to be met by the individual laboratory areas (analytics, microbiology and toxicoloogy) within BfR, the laboratories were grouped in three organisational units with regard to the quality management system within the framework of accreditation.
The quality management tasks also include co-ordinating activities within BfR within the framework of the implementation of DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 for the purposes of achieving the certification of the entire Institute in the Year 2010.
