BfR Committee for Feeds and Animal Nutrition
The BfR Committee for Feeds and Animal Nutrition supports BfR in its task of assessing feed and feed additives with regard to their safety for animals, users and consumers of food of animal origin.
Tasks of the BfR Committee
The Additives Committee advises BfR on specific issues relating to the approval of feed additives, products and substances for use in animal feed. Its findings reflect the current level of scientific knowledge available more particularly on animal feed, nutritional physiology, feed technology and chemical analytics. These work results are not only of assistance for BfR assessment activities; they also serve as a decision-making aid for the Land control bodies in the fields of feed safety and consumer health protection.
Members of the BfR Committee
Experts from universities, Land control bodies, federal research agencies and other research agencies were appointed as members of this BfR Committee.
