Official analytical methods for residues of plant protection products and pesticides (L 00.00 15)

Study of foods, additional multi-methods for the detection and determination of residues of plant protection products in foods

The Official Collection of Study Methods pursuant to § 35 LMBG (Foods and Other Commodities Act) contains several multi-methods which can be used to detect and determine the residues of numerous plant protection products present concurrently in foods including drinking water. Furthermore, the German Research Society (DFG) has published other multi-methods for individual substance groups tested in several laboratories in its loose-leaf collection “Residue analysis of plant protection products"*). Hence, special reference is made to those multi-methods listed in Table 1 for low-fat foods and in Table 2 for drinking water. In individual cases, they may be suited for validating the identity and/or level of a plant protection product. Where determination by gas chromatography stipulates a packed column, today a capillary column is usually preferred.
